Welcome to St John’s Lutheran School, Newtown.
Our special focus is on the whole child, especially the needs of individual students with an emphasis on the social/emotional, academic, physical and spiritual dimensions. We have a diverse student cohort and encourage student enrolment applications from a wide range of backgrounds.
We believe that it is very important that our students feel safe at school so that their learning opportunities can be at an optimal level. St John’s strives for high academic standards with a willingness to help all students to realise their potential and develop their interests.
Our outstanding staff are very committed to support our students and their ongoing development.
Essential to our School is our relationship with God, in the context of the Gospel, where each student is valued and accepted as a child of God. Relationships are a very important part of our St John’s culture, so we use the Restorative Practice model in the management of our students’ behaviour.
We offer a range of activities: co-curricular including sport and music and extra-curricular including service learning and debating.
For a taste of St John’s Lutheran School, we encourage you to visit for a tour on Tuesday mornings during term time. I strongly recommend you visit us, to see our school in action, to meet members of our caring and dynamic school and experience for yourself this unique environment.
I am delighted to be the second College Principal of St John’s Lutheran School and Kindergarten.
