On Monday, our staff and students marked Remembrance Day with a special service in the hall. Thanks to Lola we heard of her experience, along with her sisters and parents, of visiting Ieper, a town in the Belgian province of West Flanders earlier this year. While in the region on ANZAC Day, surrounded by cemeteries, memorials and museums honouring the battles of World War 1, the three girls laid a wreath on behalf of their St John’s friends and families. We had the privilege of learning so much more about the sacrifices made for us by servicemen and women, thanks to Lola’s wonderfully presented message.
