Upcoming Surf Coast Highway Closure

The Regional Rail Revival project has advised the College about upcoming roadworks in the Armstrong Creek and Grovedale area that will significantly affect access to our GLC Armstrong Creek campus for much of Term 1.

As part of works to remove the level crossing, Surf Coast Highway will be closed between the level crossing and Baanip Boulevard from 9:30am Friday 9 February to 6:00am Thursday 7 March

Due to this significant closure, the authority is recommending drivers through the area allow 20 - 30 minutes extra time for travel. Multiple detours will be in place with road signs for drivers and there will be an increase to traffic on other roads in the area.

If you normally travel to or from parts of Geelong north of the railway line, the main detour routes are via Barwon Heads Road and Geelong Ring Road/Baanip Boulevard. Additionally, Boundary Road between Barwon Heads Road and Horseshoe Bend Road will also be limited to local traffic only and will not be an option for families seeking an alternative route to the Armstrong Creek campus. We have included the provided detour map from Regional Rail Revival for your reference.

Impact on GLC Buses

Please be advised that there are no changes to bus stops for students who use the GLC Bus service. As communicated above, there may be significant traffic congestion at times, so please be mindful if picking up students from bus stops after school.
