Although the extreme weather threw a curve-ball at us, our
altered Athletics Carnival program proved to be a success. Students cheered on
their teammates and enthusiastically participated in each of their events. It’s
always pleasing to observe students participating in their running races as
well as the field events of discus, shot-put, high jump and long jump,
especially for those who find some of these events challenging! Their perseverance
was not only key, but also commendable. We had plenty of parents, grandparents,
aunts and uncles as well as friends brave the heat to support our school event
which is great to see.
Because of the amended timetable, we were not able to
announce a winner on the day. We will await the Junior School’s tabloid sport
results before we can announce the winning house. I would like to thank all
volunteers, students and staff for their flexibility and commitment to making
the day run smoothly and successfully.
We look forward to the Junior School Sports on the 22 March
from 9.30am at the school oval.
