St John’s Lutheran Kindergarten Newtown is a place where children love learning.
St John’s Lutheran Kindergarten is located in Newtown, within the Geelong Lutheran College St John’s Newtown Campus. The Kindergarten has strong ties to our school and wider community.
Kindergarten educators provide a nurturing and holistic approach to education where children are inspired to explore, question and challenge the world around them. They treasure the unique nature of each child and strive to foster a child-centred education, providing a personalised approach with a sense of community that resonates throughout the Kindergarten.
St John’s Kindergarten offers funded three and four-year old Kindergarten programs with extended hours care available to families accessing four year old Kindergarten.
St John’s Kindergarten students have a prioritised opportunity to interview for a Prep position at Geelong Lutheran College.

St John's Lutheran Kindergarten closes for all school holidays and public holidays throughout the year. In 2024, St John's Lutheran Kindergarten will be closed on the following dates:
- Australia Day: Friday 26 January
- Labour Day: Monday 11 March
- Easter: Friday 29 March and Monday 1 April
- ANZAC Day: Thursday 25 April
- King's Birthday: Monday 10 June
- Staff Retreat Day: Monday 15 July (first Monday of Term 3)
- Grand Final Eve: Friday 27 September (TBC)
- Geelong Cup Day: Wednesday 23 October
SunSmart
St John's Lutheran Kindergarten is a registered member of the SunSmart Early Childhood Program and has a sun protection policy that meets SunSmart guidelines and recommendations to reduce skin cancer risk.
