Before & After School

 

Children should arrive at school after 8.30am and preferably before 8.45am
to prepare for the coming day.

 

Teachers supervise all school gates from 3.30-3.50pm. 

 

Children are then brought to the quadrangle until a parent collects them. 

 

After-school care is available at the Newtown Primary School OSH Club in Aberdeen Street. 

 

Taxis transport the children to Newtown each afternoon. 

 

The OSH coordinator can be contacted on 5223-1498 from 3.15pm

Monday-Friday.    

 

 

Car Parking

Street parking is available in all of the streets around the school. 

 

Cars however, may not be left unattended in the 5-minute bays on the east side of Pakington Street at any time. 

 

There are also many parks available in Villamanta Street, a short walk from the school. 

 

The Aberdeen St/Pakington S. intersection is supervised by an official School Crossing Supervisor from 8.20-9.00am and from 3.20-4.00pm each day.

 

School driveways are strictly unavailable for parent use at any time.

Transport

 

Parents are responsible for organising their children’s transport to and from school. 

There is a bus stop outside St. John’s Lutheran School and times and services can be obtained from the Regional Bus Coordinator at Matthew Flinders Girls Secondary College on 5221-8834.
